Extend Your Stay as a UK Entrepreneur

The UK Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa has been replaced by the Innovator Visa and Start-up Visa. However, existing holders of a Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa could apply for an extension until April 5, 2023 and pursue settlement in the UK until April 5, 2025.

The visa originally lasts 3 years and 4 months, with a possibility of a 2-year extension for eligible entrepreneurs before the current visa expires.

Eligibility Criteria for the UK Tier 1 Entrepreneur Extension Visa

To extend your Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa, you must meet requirements related to business activity, investment, and job creation. You may qualify through any of the following:

  • Business Involvement: Be self-employed, a member of a partnership, or a director of a business for at least 3 months before applying.

  • Investment: Invest £200,000 (or £50,000 depending on your original funds submitted) in one or more UK businesses.
